Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Recently, I informed you that the members of The Pointe United Methodist Church in Brandon participated in a called church conference to individually withdraw membership from The United Methodist Church. In our continued efforts to keep you abreast of this situation, I would like to give you an update on the results of the 2016 Book of Discipline’s Paragraph 213 process.

The Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church has reached an amicable separation with the former members of The Pointe United Methodist Church. The prior appointed clergy at The Pointe—senior pastor, James Taylor and associate pastor, Todd Sanders—have voluntarily surrendered their credentials and are no longer United Methodist ministers. The Pointe Church has retained ownership of its property and will continue its ministry in its current location.
